This unique Tibetan Mala is made of 111 polished stone beads. A Japa Mala or Mala means garland and is a string of prayer beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for spiritual practice.  It is usually made from 108 beads, though other numbers are also used. Mala’s are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. The 112th bead on a mala is called the Sumeru, Stupa or Guru bead.

Each stone is approximately 1.2 cm thick and the length of the Mala is 76 cms.
The various colors of the beads form a nice soft feel. Of course, it is beautiful to wear this Mala.  However, this piece of jewelry can also be very special as an object for example in the bathroom.
